Food and wine in France are like a religion. France is a country of flavors.

It is important to know that : 

• in every french city, the town center usually offers many food and wine shops. They are usually an excellent deal for finding very good products at the right price
• it is possible to find correct food and fine wines in the "hypermarkets", huge supermarket, being located in residential suburbs around the cities, selling everything and also clothes.

Food :

You will find numerous food items in shops or supermarkets, for example :

• Cheese
• Mustard
• Chocolate... 

And don't miss to go to the local markets ("les marchés") in villages or towns. You will find there many delicious fresh products 

Wine :

You could buy wine and liquors in their regions of production, but this is useful only if you are looking for small vintners that you could not find in shops, because wine and liquors are usually more expensive at the "chateau" where it is produced, than in the shop!

Buying good wine is possible in every french city, where you will find specialized wine shops. It is also possible to buy fine wine at good price in supermarkets, but you must know what you will buy because there is no clerk.
